WHY I DECIDED TO TAKE THE DIGITAL MARKETING NANODEGREE
Working as a manager for 4 years for an upscale restaurant in San Francisco was the best thing that happened to me. I was making about $55,000.00 a month plus yearly bonuses of around $8,000.00.
Then COVID-19 pandemic came, and shelter-in-place order was put in place in mid-March.
All restaurants were ordered to close, and some even had to lay off all their employees, I was one of them.
My income was reduced 40% with unemployment benefits. The regular and the federal one.
One morning my wife and I were chatting about the current situation and she suggested I go back to school. She hasn’t been laid off because she works for a supermarket chain as a store director.
I researched certifications in technology because that is what I like to do and that’s what is in high demand right now.
Browsing different online degrees in Digital Marketing, I came across Udacity.
What I liked about Udacity is its in-demand nanodegree programs in different technology sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Self-driving cars, Digital Marketing, and much more.
They collaborate with companies like Google, Hubspot, Moz, Mailchimp, and Facebook to create the course contents.
After being enrolled for 3 weeks in Digital Marketing Nanodegree program, I feel I’m on the right path to change my career and improve myself.
I truly, recommend Udacity if you want to improve yourself in a short period of time and be more marketable in the job market.
