It was a tearful reunion between a woman and her Sphynx cat, named Abe, who was stolen in London and then showed up in Pickering.
Last week, a resident called Pickering Animal Services to report they found Abe at the Pickering GO Station.
It turns out he went missing back in February, when he was stolen from the woman’s home.
Officials say the woman, named Katie, was devastated when she found out he was taken and she had been looking for him for months.
When Abe arrived at the Pickering shelter, he was scanned for a microchip and that’s when staff confirmed Katie was the registered owner.
Pickering Animal Services is reminding you about how important it is to microchip your pet. They say it’s a permanent form of identification and shows it can help reunite lost pets and owners.
