Geelong is not sure on how long it will take Tom Stewart to recover from a fractured collarbone.
The defender has had surgery to insert a plate after suffering the injury in the first quarter of the Cats’ three-point win over Melbourne.
Football Boss, Simon Lloyd said the injury is disappointing for Tom.
“Knowing him, he’ll be back around the club very soon and will start his recovery, and hopefully he moves through that very quickly,” he said.
“How long the recovery is? I’d be guesstimating at this point-of-time.
We’ll wait for guidance on that from his surgeon.”
Tom will also be given the final say on whether he joins the team in Perth, where the players will be based in a hub for three weeks.
Meantime defensive forward Tom Atkins is being watched after suffering a knock to the chest in Sunday’s game.
Patrick Dangerfield has been given the all clear after copping a knock to the jaw.
