Desexing your feline friend can be expensive but Camden Council and local veterinarians want to help cat owners out.
Camden cat owners can take advantage of the council’s subsidised Cat Desexing Program, which is available now.
The program allows eligible residents, including pensioners and low-income households, in the Camden area to desex their male cats for just $45 and their female cats for $65.
Camden mayor Theresa Fedeli said the Cat Desexing Program would help to reduce the number of abandoned pets in the region.
“Desexing your cat will not only prevent unwanted pregnancies but is also an important part of responsible pet ownership,” Cr Fedeli said.
“It is heartbreaking to see many cats and kittens abandoned every year because their owners were not able to take on additional pets.
“This program assists residents who love their cats but cannot necessarily afford to desex them.
“I encourage all eligible residents to take advantage of the offer.”
Participating veterinarians within the Camden area include:
- Leppington Veterinary Clinic
- Macarthur Veterinary Group, Mount Annan
- Macarthur Veterinary Group, Camden
- Macarthur Veterinary Group, Gregory Hills
- Rossmore Veterinary Hospital
- The University of Sydney Veterinary Hospital.
The Cat Desexing Program is available for a limited time only.
